On June 19th Niche Decor will be hosting a charity fashion show bringing together 3 local businesses. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Belinda’s Place, another local charity whose information is listed below. The president of the charity will be addressing the audience. The local newspaper will be here covering the event as well! In the wake of an eye-opening study commissioned by the York Region Alliance to End Homelessness that highlighted the urgent need for a shelter and support for homeless women, Newmarket Mayor Tony Van Bynen and former Newmarket-Aurora MP Belinda Stronach joined forces to make a difference. The Community Team is committed to creating awareness of the need for the shelter and engaging the community at large in raising $1 million toward the current estimated capital cost of $5 million. Fundraising is well under way with many activities and events raising awareness and funds for the Belinda’s Place Shelter project.

Lions Foundation of Canada’s mission is to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them Dog Guides at no cost to them. It costs $25000 to train a dog to become a guide, and donations are vital to keep this wonderful program going.
